Our Technology

Family Eyecare of Scottsdale is committed to providing thorough, quality eye care. That’s why we’ve invested in modern diagnostic technology to help protect your eye health. Here’s a look at some innovative tools we use.

Imagine getting a detailed view of your retina without those blurry dilation drops. The optomap allows us to capture an ultra-wide digital image of your retina, giving us a much broader view than traditional methods. This helps us detect potential eye health issues earlier and more effectively.

This measurement technology helps us understand the growth and development of your eye.  MYAH can precisely measure the axial length of the eye (front to back), a key factor in managing myopia (nearsightedness), especially in children. This information allows us to create personalized treatment plans to slow myopia progression.

Your cornea is the clear front surface of your eye. Corneal topography creates a detailed map of its unique shape, like a 3D landscape. This helps us diagnose and manage various corneal conditions, and is crucial for contact lens fittings, especially for those with irregular corneas, astigmatism, or keratoconus.

Think of Optovue optical coherence tomography (OCT) as a high-tech camera that takes detailed cross-sectional images of the inside of your eye. It allows us to see the retina, optic nerve, and other structures in incredible detail, helping us diagnose and monitor eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other retinal diseases.

Virtual Vision is a virtual reality (VR) technology designed for eye health diagnostics and virtual field testing. This test measures your peripheral vision—how well you can see at the edges of your vision. It helps us identify blind spots or other visual field defects, which can be signs of eye conditions like glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Regular visual field testing is an important part of maintaining your eye health.

Getting the right fit for your glasses is essential for comfort and clear vision. When your eyeglasses aren’t correctly aligned, it can cause discomfort, eye strain, and headaches—or even make your glasses look a little off in photos.

The OptiKam system takes 10 precise measurements for your eyeglasses, helping ensure your new frames fit perfectly and provide optimal visual clarity.
